Sale day balanced by teatime.

Studio is the livestock mart back office, in the cloud. Lot it up, run the ring, record the movements, print the statements, pay the sellers, chase the debt. From any desk, on any device, with nothing to install.

Lot it up in the yard, sell it from the office.

Scan tags with the stick reader and they are on the sale sheet before the wagon is unloaded. Every tag lands on its lot the moment it is read, and the office watches the sheet fill from the desk. The catalogue is finished when the yard is.

  • Stick-reader scanning straight to the sheet
  • Lots built on the phone in the yard or at the desk, on the same sheet
  • Office and yard see the same lot list, live

Build the buyer list from what they actually bought. Then tell them.

Pull a list from real purchase history, by product, by breed, or by a region you draw on a map, and send the catalogue by text or email from the same screen. Every message is tracked, so you can see who got it and who opened it.

  • Buyer lists built from real purchase history
  • Broadcast by SMS or email to the whole list
  • Sent, delivered and opened, per message

Built for the clerk. Keeps pace with the ring.

The clerk’s job is to keep up with the auctioneer. Hear the price, key it, put the buyer on it, next lot. A name, a number or a farm — a couple of keystrokes. Re-run, split, undo and note are one press each. Hands stay on the keyboard.

  • Buyer on the lot in a couple of keystrokes: name, number or farm
  • Re-run, split, undo and note at ring speed, a hotkey for each, no mouse
  • Board, sale sheet and office update the moment Next Lot is pressed

“I can keep up with him now. Price, buyer, next lot. I am not looking down at a sheet trying to catch up.”

One page per customer. Nothing hidden.

Open any buyer or seller from the sale sheet and it is all there. Holding, contacts, the ledger, every payout. The cart sits at the top of the page, so a statement is one press away while they are standing at the desk.

  • Overview: holding, contacts, invoices, communications, documents
  • Ledger: every debit and credit, balance and days to pay
  • Accounts and cart: payouts, statements, and a statement ready on the spot
Watch this step in the demo
“When a farmer rings about a statement, it is on the screen before he has finished asking. No more “I’ll call you back”.”

Pay every seller with one button.

When the last lot has gone through, Studio runs the checkpoint: every seller’s statement, BACS or cheque, emailed or printed, in one go, and flags the ones that need a human look first. Post the day’s cash, cheques and card payments against the right invoices. Then export the journals straight into your accounts package, already reconciled.

  • Bulk statements and payouts with exceptions surfaced, not hidden
  • Every email and text tracked: sent, delivered, opened
  • Journal export to your accounts package (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage) with sale-close checks

“Eighteen statements and the BACS file went out before I had finished my tea. That used to be my Friday night.”

Photograph it in the yard. It is on the sheet before you walk on.

Collective and dispersal sales run on the same sheet as the stock. The ground team walk the yard with a phone, photograph each lot, and the pictures are on the sale sheet in the office before they have reached the next tractor. If you want it, AI reads the photos and writes the titles: make, model, the lot. The team review and edit rather than typing four hundred lots from scratch. Out of signal in the far field? Keep shooting. It all uploads when the phone is back in range.

  • Photos from the phone land on the lot the moment they are taken
  • Optional AI labelling: titles written from the photos, checked by the team
  • Works offline in the yard and syncs when the signal comes back

The back office lives in the cloud. The market stays live from any desk.

No server under the desk, no backups to remember, no IT contractor on sale-day retainer. Studio runs in the cloud, on the mart’s existing laptops, tablets and phones.

One sale sheet held in the cloud. The yard reads a tag and the lot appears on the office laptop, the rostrum screen and the ring board; the rostrum sells it and the price appears everywhere, including the phone in the yard.STATEMENT£1,200PAIDHartfield Prime CattleLots (12) · People · Report41Cull Cattle£1,200AFTER THE SALEStatement printedStatement printedEmailed to buyerEmailed to buyerSMS to sellerSMS to sellerSeller paid by BACSSeller paid by BACSHartfield Prime CattleRostrumLOT 41£1,200Ashridge Meats£In the ringPassedSoldLot No.41SellerR T Calder & SonsFarm NameCaldervaleQty.1Remarks41 : UK204118 501102CommentsIn the ring · FCI signed · movement reportedSold £1,200 · Ashridge MeatsPrev Lot38Prev Qty4Prev BuyerD Kell MeatsHartfield · LotsLot 41£1,200Ashridge MeatsTag read · in ringHARTFIELD MARTLot 41 sold £1,200£900£1,000£1,100£1,200£BACK OFFICETHE ROSTRUMTHE RINGTHE YARD

Live in weeks, not a six-month IT project.

Three things happen between signing and your first sale on Studio. We do the first two.

“They flew 4,000 miles to be in the building for our first sale, and stayed for the second. We opened on time and kept moving.”

How rollout works
  1. 01

    We move your data.

Customers, holdings, account codes and open balances come across from whatever you run today. Checked against your last statements before anyone sells a beast on it.

  2. 02

We are there on sale day.

One of us sits in the office for your first sale, and the phone is answered by someone who knows marts for every sale after that.

  3. 03

Your team is trained on your sales.

Not on a demo mart. On your sheet, your customers and next Friday’s catalogue.

11 marts run their whole back office on Studio.

Questions about Studio

What is Studio?

Studio is the whole back office for a livestock mart, run in the cloud. The sale sheet, buyers and sellers, statements, payouts, debtors, the accounts export and compliance reporting all live in one system, so nothing is typed twice.

How is it different from Studio Air?

Studio Air is the sale-day cataloguing app for the yard. It doesn’t do pricing or accounts. Studio is the whole back office. Most marts use both; Air feeds Studio.

Does it need a server in the office?

No. It runs in the cloud on whatever laptops, tablets and phones you already have.

What if the internet goes down during a sale?

The sale sheet lives on the server, not on a laptop in the office, so nothing is lost. Any phone on 4G keeps the rostrum going, and the office screens catch up the moment they reconnect.

How do we get our data out of our current system?

We do it. Customers, holdings, account codes and open balances come across from whatever you run today, and we check them against your last statements before your first sale on Studio.

Which accounts packages does it export to?

Xero, QuickBooks and Sage 50. Journals, not CSVs you have to re-map.

Who supports us on the first sale day?

One of us sits in your office for the first sale. After that the phone is answered by someone who knows marts, for every sale.

What does it cost?

It depends on your sale volume. Tell us roughly how many head you sell a year and we will give you a number on the first call.
